| Before: This is a small bathroom in the hallway. If you look in the mirror, you can see that the door opened inward, making the available floor space very tight. This bathroom had a one-handled faucet and a standard height throne. The shower/bathtub was one-piece. The flooring was vinyl. | |

After: The door is now a pocket door that slides into the wall behind the shower. The one-handed faucet was replaced with a two lever faucet (personal preference). The space under the sink was removed to make knee and foot room. Pulls where added to the drawers. A telephone with an intercom is on the side of the vanity. A fold down grab bar is between the sink and the throne. The standard height throne was replaced with a raised throne. The shower/tub unit has been removed. The shower walls were tiled and the floor was tiled. A wheelchair user can back into the shower area to be parallel to the throne for a side transfer. |
