To Be Continued
Yay! Lew gets to be poisoned tomorrow!
Monday, Lew was saying that he didn’t feel strong enough to start on chemo again. So, it was a big surprise (to me) when he told Dr. Chemo this morning that he was ready for another cycle. Later he told me that he had realized that he wasn’t nauseous [...]

Careful What You Wish For
Friday evening, I glanced at the clock to see if there was time to make a mad dash to the drug store before they closed. Sitting up, I asked, “Did we ever buy some Imodium?” We had both known that Lew wasn’t right in the head Friday. But it wasn’t until then that I realized [...]

Unplanned Doctor Visit
You all know how tough Lew tries to be. This morning, I decided that I was going to call Dr. Chemo — whether or not Lew approved. But, he gave me no argument. Linda asked how quickly we could get there. Dr. Chemo was concerned that the nausea was a sign of kidney failure. The [...]

Lew had another bad day. He tried not to take either of the anti-nausea meds. One makes him twitchy and restless so he rests [...]

Chemo Stopped
You know its about to hurt when the pharmacy cashier says, “Your insurance saved you $482.38.”
Lew was having a really bad day. The third time I asked, he let me call Dr. Chemo. The nausea was just too much for the drugs we have in the house. We were surprised at how quickly his nurse [...]

Expensive!
Its that dreaded time of year again. Any day now, I’m going to get a letter from my health insurance company telling me that they are raising my premium again. If I start to complain about it, please tell me to stuff it.
We got the first statement for Lew’s first round of chemo — $11,950.00. [...]
